Growth and development in Tallawong NSW

Tallawong takes its name from the metro station, which opened in May 2019 as the north western end of the metro line. The suburb was gazetted in November 2020 and had 6,570 residents at the 2021 Census across a little over four square kilometres. The NSW Government's Tallawong Station precinct, planned as the Cudgegong Road Station (Area 20) precinct, provides for around 4,400 homes, and further releases such as Landcom's Guntawong Road project are still to come. For an owner that means neighbouring lots will be excavated and built on around you for years.

FAQ

Growth and development in Tallawong NSW: common questions

Why would I need a dilapidation report?

When the lot beside yours is excavated or built on, a dated record of your walls, paving and fences settles any later argument about whether cracking was already there.

Is Tallawong still being developed?

Yes. Large parcels around the station and along Guntawong Road are still being planned or built, so construction traffic will be part of the area for some time.

Does nearby building affect my own build?

It can affect site access and drainage while both are under way. Your inspector notes anything on the boundary that looks likely to cause water or soil problems.
